Dr. Sylwia Ciuk, Research Lead
Dr Sylwia Ciuk is an Associate Professor of Organisation Studies at Oxford Brookes University. She has done extensive research on organisational change in multinational organisations as well as in the public sector. Dr Ciuk specialises in organisational change, culture, hybrid work, leadership, inclusion and language diversity at work. She is the research lead of the ‘Navigating Hybrid Work’ study underpinning this project.
Dr. Kay Galpin, Research Associate
Dr Kay Galpin is an Associate Researcher at Oxford Brookes University. Dr Galpin has worked on a variety of complex projects, spanning many sectors and organisations. She is an expert in employee wellbeing, inclusive leadership and organisational change, with a background that combines academic research and senior HR practice. She has worked closely with Dr Ciuk on the ‘Navigating Hybrid Work’ project, in particular on translating the study’s rich insights into practical tools for change.

Prof. Harriet Shortt is an artist and an academic expert in visual research methods. Her research explores organisational space and the material world of work, using creative and arts-based methodologies to help practitioners understand identity, wellbeing, and change in the workplace.
Torie Slaughter, Research Associate until April 2025
Torie Slaughter is a doctoral researcher at Oxford Brookes Business School, researching black women diversity and inclusion practitioners. Drawing on her own background in HR and DEI industry roles, her work translates directly into practical resources for practitioners and employers.
